Alyssa, Kenna and Jenna host Self Evident’s favorite episode to date: a conversation with Kevin Sorbo. Kevin Sorbo is an American actor, producer, director, and author. He is known for his roles in numerous tv shows and movies such as Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Andromeda, God’s Not Dead, and Let There Be Light to name a few.

In short, this is a discussion with a Proverbs 28 lion. This conversation spans a plethora of topics, from Sorbo discusses the latest films he has starred in and directed recently–which you can find at the spectacular Sorbo Studios–the importance of voting, the asinine education of public school education, how the government utilizes fear to get what they want, golfing excursions with former presidents, rapier witticisms and loving on enemies.

Today we have a rather unique episode coming your way. Earlier this year, The Illinois Christian Home Educator’s (ICHE) conference took place in Bourbonnais, Illinois, and Jenna was given the opportunity to interview a husband-and-wife duo who define the term “power couple.” Will and Meeke Addison, hosts of Airing the Addisons, were those precise people at this year’s convention, and Jenna was able to speak with them on behalf of the Illinois Family Institute’s Spotlight podcast.

Culture proof is a term coined by the Addisons to describe what parents should want in their children. The culture creeps into homes and families with the intention of penetrating the hearts of the children, be it through social media, music, movies or books. “What is required of [parents] is that we make our kids impervious to the culture. We want our kids to be out in the culture, but we do not want a godless culture getting into them” states the couple fervently.

We’re delighted to share this conversation with you today on Self Evident, and we hope you enjoy!

Hail and well met ladies and gents, Self Evident is back to converse about the issue of gun control, one of the evergreen hot topics of America.

“Gun control is not about gun control, strictly speaking. Gun control is people control. Gun control is not about the abolition of gun ownership. Gun control is about a rearrangement of the gun ownership—where the people below give them up, and the people above keep all of theirs.” ~Pastor Douglas Wilson

“Truth is ever to be found in simplicity, and not in the multiplicity and confusion of things.” ~Isaac Newton

To conclude Pride month with pizazz, Self Evident presents this bonus episode of Jenna bombarding two biologists with questions pertaining to what is a woman. The culture today is determined to have every term that defines sex and biology clear as mud. But definitions, by definition, define things.

“They said to ask a biologist, so I asked two.” Jenna shrugged. James Zumhagen holds a degree in pre medicine biology from Governor’s State University, and Tommy Findysz is a high school science teacher at a local Christian school.  Both address issues relating to gender, sexual orientation, the push for transitioning and if one needs to have a degree in order to to speak common sense.
