The failure of government education – on multiple levels, has been the subject of discussion all over social media and the focus of many news stories recently. Not only do parents have to worry about the immoral and wicked content their children are being taught, the pernicious secrets being hidden from them about their own children, but they have every reason to be alarmed by the failing academic report card of local schools.
In the state of Illinois, Wirepoints revealed the following in a February report:
In 2023, there were 67 Illinois schools where not a single student tested was proficient in math and 32 schools where no student tested was proficient in reading. What’s worse, officials in those schools graduated nearly 70% of their students.
More than 12,000 students attend Illinois’ zero-proficiency schools. Every single one of those children will struggle in life because they lack basic reading and math skills.
Given the appalling failure of government schools to adequately teach the basics of reading and mathematics, you would assume that Illinois would prioritize better education practices.
Instead, SB 2872, which pushes government schools to provide time for relaxation activities during the school day, was signed into law by Governor JB Pritzker’s on Friday, August 2nd. (Learn more HERE.)
The Center Square reports,
The governor is expected to sign Senate Bill 2872, which pushes schools to provide relaxation activities for Illinois students.
Opponents argue that students’ academic performance is suffering and yoga classes won’t solve the problem.
According to new Wirepoints data, 35% of Illinois students statewide read at grade level. And 27% of Illinois students statewide do math at grade level. Meanwhile the governor is expected to sign a mandate that requires Illinois school districts to offer a weekly 20-minute session dedicated to relaxation activities in addition to regular recess.
These reports are understandably leaving parents feeling frustrated and hopeless about their child’s education.
Thankfully, there is a solution for Illinois parents.
Even back in 1968, Pastor Paul Lindstrom saw this issue with Illinois schools and started Christian Liberty Academy, now located in Arlington Heights, Illinois. According to the website,
The school began as the result of the dissatisfaction of the church with government education and its desire for Christian education. Dr. Paul Lindstrom, pastor of the church [Church of Christian Liberty] since its beginning three years earlier, had realized that millions of children were being academically impoverished, in part because they were not being taught to read adequately.
Christian Liberty Academy’s (CLA) core values are Honoring Christ, Proclaiming Freedom, and Pursuing Excellence. CLA provides a range of disciplines such as art, theatre, technology, athletics, music, spiritual growth, and more that will help your child flourish in their God-given talents.
Now, everyone knows that private education is costly, which is why CLA also boasts of a fantastic, affordable homeschooling program, Christian Liberty Homeschools, which has aided over 100,000 families worldwide.
Pastor Calvin Lindstrom, son of Paul Lindstrom and current Administrator of Christian Liberty Academy notes,
At one time we probably had the largest home education ministry in the nation. With competition, that has changed. We now serve about 1500 students through our home school program, now called Christian Liberty Homeschools. Most of our families are in the United States, but we serve families across the world.
Christian Liberty Homeschools is accredited by the National Association of Private Schools and graduates of this program will be accepted by accredited colleges, universities, and military academies.
Parents who enroll with Christian Liberty Academy or Christian Liberty Homeschools can rest assured knowing that their child will be receiving not only excellent academic training, but will also be learning their academics from a biblical worldview that honors Christ.
