
Protesting is part of the First Amendment rights we have as Americans. They can be positive, such as the Boston Tea Party, the Civil Rights Movement or the March for Life. Or, they can be negative such as Pride parades and the BLM riots of 2020. How should Christians think through protests?

Violence During No Kings Riots
Salt Lake City, Utah: A man believed to be part of a “peacekeeping team” for the pr[))test shot at a person who was brandishing a rifle at demonstrators. The shooting injured both the rifleman and a bystander, with the bystander later dying at the hospital. Police arrested the alleged rifleman. AP News
Riverside, California: A driver of an SUV struck a woman participating in a demonstration and fled the scene. The woman sustained “significant injuries” but was stable. AP News
Culpeper, Virginia: A man was arrested after allegedly driving his vehicle into a dispersing crowd, striking one person. Washington Post
Portland, Oregon: Police deployed tear gas and flash grenades after demonstrators breached an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility. Four police officers were reported injured. Oregon Public Broadcasting
