This week, on the Self-Evident podcast, Alyssa and Kenna sit down with Kent Evans to discuss biblical masculinity– what it is and how to achieve it.
Kent Evans is a husband, father of 5 sons, and co-founder of Manhood Journey, a ministry dedicated to helping fathers become active disciple-makers in their home.
The topic of masculinity, especially today when masculinity is considered toxic by the left, is being heavily discussed both in Christian circles and non-Christian circles. What does it mean to be a biblically masculine man?
When you look at biblical masculinity, you simply just need to start with the Person of Jesus Christ…
Jesus walked this earth in a way that we all are supposed to emulate. So, when you look at a man– whether he’s 16 or 66 years old– it doesn’t matter. The question is who is he aiming at as his role model, and if that guy finds that he is aiming at Jesus Christ, then he is striving for biblical masculinity…
True Biblical Masculinity can hold both of those things in tension [gentleness and aggression] and know when to apply gentleness and kindness and when to apply force and aggression in a way that helps other people.
This is a fantastic episode that you don’t want to miss.
