In June of 2023, Target and Bud Light received heavy backlash for their radical Pride campaigns. In addition to this, Disney and Starbucks also received pushback for their continued capitulation to the woke mob.
However, another company joined the “woke ranks” and it may have escaped your notice– Cracker Barrel.
Yes, Cracker Barrel—the beloved southern, family-friendly restaurant, which has twenty-one restaurants in the Land of Lincoln and over 660 locations across the country. Originally founded in Tennessee, the chain is now worth an impressive $1.08 billion.
The backlash was due to a Facebook post published last June, featuring a picture of a rocking chair painted in rainbow colors. In the caption, Cracker Barrel said,
We are excited to celebrate Pride Month with our employees and guests.
Everyone is always welcome at our table (and our rocker). Happy Pride!
As you can only imagine, this message was not well-received by Cracker Barrel’s base of southern, conservative families. Not surprisingly, many conservatives took to Twitter (now X) to comment on this post.
Texas Family Project tweeted,
We take no pleasure in reporting that @CrackerBarrel has fallen. A once family-friendly establishment has caved to the mob.
According to a CBS News article, Julie Felss Masino, the new CEO of Cracker Barrel, thinks that the restaurant chain needs a “transformation” because she thinks they’re “just not as relevant as we once were.”
Yet, most patrons would probably agree that embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and celebrating so-called “Pride Month” is vastly different than making physical renovations or changing up the menu to include vegan options.
Alienating their most loyal supporters to appeal to new customers will not improve its financial performance.

It is important that we speak out boldly, but politely, to let them know that a large swath of their customer base refuses to buy into the political correctness that radical leftists want to sell us.
If we are silent in response to these changes, we are, in essence, giving our consent.
